Crab Gumbo
Ingredients
Ingredients :
  • 1/2 pound crab meat
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 1/2 cans whole tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 10 ounces okra, diced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 bay leaf
Preparation :
  1. Cook onion, celery and garlic in butter until tender.
  2. Add okra, tomatoes and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
  3. Add crabmeat and heat through. Remove bay leaf and serve over hot cooked rice.
